Does your Business Need a Make-over?

I've just returned from speaking at the UKInbound convention in beautiful Torquay. The subject of my presentation was "Do you and your business need a lick of paint?" Torquay is undergoing a multi-million pould rejeneration but what about your business.

I promoted my audience to take a look at their printed material - if you started your business 5 years ago and made your own cards and stationery is it time for you to have them professionally designed?

When someone visits your premises are their leaves and rubbish leading up to your doorway (Er I just cleaned up mine!)

Does your business attire really reflect where your business is today and where it is going? Should you upgrade to a smarter look or perhaps adopting casual would be great for you.

Are you a consumate networker - are you speaking regularly about your business, are you blogging - do you need to update your communication or presentation skills?

My point is that you and your business are changing all the time and you need to make sure that you are checking and adjusting the image that you present to others. Write yourself a checklist and review it regularly

Our Biggest Ever Latte Launch

Newly launched Henley Latte this week just added fuel to the theory that you should do what you are great at and surround yourself with skilled colleagues who are experts in their fields.

Sarah Ducker, Latte Leader from Henley, is herself a wedding and event planner, so our most skillfully planned, executed and attended latte lauched at Loch Fyne on Thursday. The restuarant ran round and catered for our every need, refilling coffees, keeping us topped up with biscuits and the networking buzz was amazing.

The restuarant were duly rewarded for their attentiveness with at least 15 ladies had arranged to meet other colleagues and continue their networking over luch (which myself and Mary Flavelle did, and lunch was excellent).

LadiesWhoLatte Henley increased our membership by about another 30 ladies, many of whom are quite new to networking and have fantastic new businesses. So thanks to Sarah for raising the bar for all of the rest of us, and welcome to all our new latte ladies.
Be Fabulous

How "free and easy" should we be with our directory

I think, like taxes Spam is inevitable. Get a rogue message in your inbox - simply right click it and choose "Add to junk mail" and then clear out your junk inbox every couple of days, how hard is that - delete the odd ones that slip though - thats my view.

Being a networking tart my details are "out there" give me a box to fill in my details, particularly with a link to my website and I've clicked save and submit faster than I could buy shoes from Nine West. (I do however, make sure that I shred my bank statements and credit card details).

I have had my switch card cloned so I know that it can happen, my friend had £10,000 spent on her credit card after it went missing in the post - but like me, she was not held responsible for it.

So ladies, my question is do we publish and distrubute our directory for all to see and spread our fabulousness or do we perhaps we don't and Mary Flavelle will operate her "Ask Eve" service - you need someone, "Ask Eve" and she'll find them for you - Like Maureen212 but so much better.

btw: if anyone tried to open a credit or store card anywhere with my details the response they'd get is "but madam you already have a card with us, In fact you are one of our best customers"

Whaddya think?
